DAY 1

PARIS - ISTANBUL

Flight to Istanbul. Flight operated by Turkish Airlines or similar Timetable: Paris CDG 12.05pm / Istanbul 4.45pm On arrival, welcome by your guide and transfer to your hotel. Installation in your room. Dinner and overnight in Istanbul.

DAY 2

ISTANBUL

A day devoted to discovering Istanbul, a fascinating city straddling two continents. In the morning, visit the Blue Mosque, with its 6 minarets, built between 1609 and 1616 for Sultan Ahmet 1st and decorated inside with 21043 blue Iznik tiles. Then visit the hippodrome, where sporting, political and cultural activities were held during the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman periods. Visit the grandiose Hagia Sophia, which marked the apogee of the Byzantine emperor Justinian's reign.

After lunch, visit Topkapi Palace, residence of the Ottoman sultans between the 15th and 19th centuries. Next, explore the Péra district, once home to the Westerners who inhabited Istanbul in the 19th and early 20th centuries. At the far end of the old Péra is the Galata Tower, which was a watchtower in the days of the Genoese. Continue along Istiklal Avenue, with its countless stores, cafés and tavernas. Stop at the flower, fruit, vegetable and fish markets.

Dinner in a local tavern and overnight in Istanbul.

DAY 3

ISTANBUL - CAPPADOCIA

In the morning, visit the Grand Bazaar, one of the world's largest covered markets with 6,000 stores! Then, through the old quarters filled with hans and caravanserais, arrive at the lively Spice Market, which still reflects the colors and flavors of the Silk Road. Then a boat trip on the Bosphorus to enjoy the best views of Istanbul and most of its historic monuments. All along the strait and on both banks of the Bosphorus, discover the marble palaces of Dolmabahçe and Beylerbeyi, beautiful Ottoman wooden villas called "yali" (waterfront residences), medieval fortresses, etc. Lunch in a fish restaurant on the European side of the Bosphorus and transfer to the airport for flight to Cappadocia. Welcome on arrival and transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.

DAY 4

CAPPADOCE

After breakfast, we set off to discover one of Turkey's most beautiful regions, Cappadocia: a fascinating and original landscape formed by volcanic lava over 3 million years ago.

Visit the open-air museum of Göreme, a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring several chapels carved out of volcanic rock and decorated with 13th-century frescoes. After lunch, drive through the Avcilar and Kiliçlar valleys, with their ancient troglodyte dwellings and fairy chimneys.

Next, a visit to the charming village of Uçhisar, offering superb panoramic views of the region and the Pigeon Valley.

Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.

DAY 5

CAPPADOCIA - KONYA

Morning drive across the Konya plain, Turkey's granary. En route, stop at the 13th-century Seljuk caravanserai at Sultanhan. Arrive in Konya, the holy city and ancient Seljuk capital of the Sultanate of Rum, and visit the museum of Mévlana, the famous poet and mystic who founded the Sufi order of Whirling Dervishes in the 13th century. Dinner and overnight in Konya.

DAY 6

KONYA - ANTALYA

After lunch, departure for Beysehir, on the shores of the lake of the same name, Turkey's largest freshwater reserve. Lunch en route and on to Antalya, a Mediterranean seaside resort.

DAY 7

ANTALYA - ISPARTA - PAMUKKALE

After breakfast, departure for Isparta, a town located in the center of the lake region on the high high plateaus of the Taurus mountain range. Isparta's reputation stems from the rose oil obtained from a variety known as "Damask roses", which grow in profusion in the region. This valuable oil is used in the cosmetics industry, and almost all of it is exported to Grasse, the city of perfume, in France. Isparta is also renowned for its shag rugs. Lunch, then on to Pamukkale to visit ancient Hierapolis and the Cotton Castle, a dazzling white natural wonder where hot springs saturated with limestone salts have covered the cliffs. We can admire a giant waterfall, impressive stalactites and natural pools. Dinner and overnight in Pamukkale.

DAY 8

PAMUKKALE - EPHESUS - KUSADASI

After breakfast, off to the magnificent site of Ephesus, city of Artemis, Turkey's most famous ancient site. Discover the famous library of Celsius, Hadrian's temple, Trajan's fountain, the splendid theater and the remains of the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Built in 1000 B.C. by the Greeks, this site is today a must-see pilgrimage site for Catholic and Orthodox Christians alike, as well as Muslims, as the last home of the Virgin Mary is located here. Lunch in Ephesus and on to Kusadasi. Dinner and overnight in Kusadasi.

DAY 9

KUSADASI - IZMIR - PERGAME - TROY - ÇANAKKALE

Departure for Izmir, the ancient Greek city of Smyrna, already a major port on the Aegean in antiquity. Turkey's third-largest city, Izmir is nicknamed "the Pearl of the Aegean". Visit the Kemaralti market, a bazaar dating back to the 17th century, featuring stores, restaurants, craft workshops, mosques, tea gardens and synagogues. Discovering the colorful streets, historic places of worship, hidden courtyards and caravanserais is a plunge into authentic Izmir. Lunch on the way, then on to Pergamon. The acropolis of Pergamon, perched on a hill to the north-east of the city, is one of the country's most fascinating archaeological sites. In the upper city, admire the library, the colossal Temple of Trajan, the theater, the Temple of Dionysus and the Altar of Zeus. Visit the Asclepieion, originally a medical center. Discover the largest hospital in ancient history, the Hospital of Asclepius. Dedicated to the god of health, this hospital is known to have been a major center of culture, art and medicine in its day. The snake-shaped reliefs at its entrance inspired the symbol of modern medicine.

Continuation to Troy, a city thought to be no more than a legend in Homer's "Iliad", until its discovery in 1868. Visit the archaeological site of the 9-tiered city and the representation of the famous wooden horse. Continuation to Çanakkale, a city steeped in history with the Dardanelles, an important World War 1 battle site. Dinner and overnight in Çanakkale.

DAY 10

ÇANAKKALE - DARDANELLES STRAIT - ISTANBUL

After breakfast, departure for Istanbul via the Dardanelles bridge. Lunch en route and arrival in Istanbul in the afternoon. Free time, dinner at the hotel and overnight in Istanbul.

DAY 11

ISTANBUL - PARIS

Breakfast and transfer to Istanbul airport, where you will be assisted with boarding formalities for your return flight. Flight operated by Turkish Airlines or similar Basic timetable: Istanbul 10:00 / Paris CDG 12:40
