Cuba uses two currencies: the Cuban peso (CUP) and the peso convertible (CUC) (the latter is being phased out).

Foreign bank cards are not widely accepted, it is recommended to travel with cash and change it on the spot.

November to April: Dry season, ideal for discovering the country in a pleasant climate.
May to October: Wet and hot season, with risks of cyclones between August and October.

Cuban cuisine is simple and tasty, influenced by Spain and the Caribbean.

Some must-try dishes:

  • Ropa Vieja : Effiloché of beef simmered with vegetables and spices.
  • Tamales : Corn dough stuffed with meat, cooked in banana leaves.
  • Tostones : Crisp, tasty fried plantains.
