Day 1

Paris - Vilnius

6.15pm: Departure from Paris CDG on direct Air Baltic flight.

9:55pm: Arrival in Vilnius. Welcome by your English-speaking guide.

Transfer to hotel. Installation in your room.

Day 2

Vilnius - Trakai - Vilnius

Breakfast at the hotel.

Visit to the old town of VILNIUS, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Stroll along Pilies Street, probably the oldest street in Vilnius, which once led to the castle. Here you can admire Baroque, Gothic and Renaissance buildings. Pass in front of the University, built in 1568. It was the first university in Central Europe and comprises a series of buildings, courtyards and galleries. Then on to St. Anne's Church, arguably the city's finest late-Gothic building, erected in the 15th century, and the Porte de l'Aurore, considered one of the city's symbols. It was one of Vilnius's first gates, built in the early 16th century. The chapel next to the gate houses the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary, painted especially for this chapel and celebrated the world over.

Visit the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, built in 1688 and considered the pearl of Baroque art in Lithuania.

Departure by coach for Trakai, former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the 13th century (30 km from Vilnius).

Visit TRAKAI Castle, dating from the 15th century and located on a peninsula in Lake Galvé. It is the only island castle in Eastern Europe. This handsome red-brick structure houses an exhibition of 17th-18th-century numismatics and applied arts.

Return to Vilnius. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 3

Vilnius - Siauliai - Rundale - Riga

Departure by coach to Latvia via Siauliai.

Stop at the Hill of the Crosses. Near Siauliai lies a sacred site steeped in history, whose origins remain unknown to this day. The Hill of Crosses is home to thousands of crosses, attracting worshippers from all over the world. Pope John Paul II visited the site in 1993.

Lunch in restaurant.

Then on to Latvia and Rundale. Visit to Rundale Palace.

Owned by the powerful Duke of Courland in the 18th century, this splendid Baroque palace was built to plans by the Italian Rastrelli, architect to the Russian Imperial Court and creator of the Hermitage in St. Petersburg. The rococo-style interiors feature valuable furniture, objets d'art and paintings. Particularly noteworthy are the Oval Cabinet, the White Salon, the Gilded Salon and the Ballroom.

Arrival in Riga. Check-in and dinner at the hotel.

Day 4

Riga

Stroll through Riga's large central market, one of the oldest and largest (16,000 m²) in Europe. Housed in former zeppelin hangars dating from the 1st World War, it offers an incomparable quantity and variety of fresh produce (fish, meat, dairy products, fruit and vegetables, etc.). The building has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998.

Followed by a stroll through the Old Town. You'll discover the Cathedral of the Dome, probably the most beautiful building in Riga, built in 1211 and combining Gothic, late Romanesque and Baroque styles. It is the largest sacred building in Latvia. Discover the exterior of St. Peter's Church, the tallest building in the old town (120 m), the House of the Black Heads, the Powder Tower (the city's former fortification tower dating from 1330), the Little and Great Guides, built in the mid-14th century, and Riga Castle, now the seat of the Latvian President.

Visit the Art Nouveau district. Riga boasts more than 800 Art Nouveau buildings dating from the early 20th century, the highest concentration in the world. The Art Nouveau buildings on Elizabetes and Alberta streets are surprising in their number, diversity and extravagant ornamentation.

Day 5

Riga - Jurmala - Riga

Departure for Jurmala. The favorite holiday resort of apparatchiks in the days of the USSR is today a charming seaside resort, ideal for recharging your batteries: sea air, thermal springs, pine forests and beautiful white sandy beaches stretching over 30 km. The oldest seaside resort in the Baltic States, Jurmala boasts some 400 wooden buildings in various styles (classical, Art Nouveau, romantic).

Visit the open-air ethnographic museum, one of the largest and oldest in Europe. 120 buildings from different regions of Latvia dating from the 17th century to the 1930s are on display: farms, craftsmen's workshops, fishermen's huts, mills, etc. The museum covers an area of 87 hectares in a beautiful pine forest on the shores of Lake Jugla.

Day 6

Riga - Sigulda - Parnu - Tallinn

Departure for Gauja National Park and visit to Turaida Castle.

In the heart of the Vidzeme region, also known as the "Latvian Switzerland", we arrive at Sigulda in the Gauja National Park. This charming town is a paradise for sports enthusiasts, whether skiing, bobsleighing or canoeing, but it's also famous for its medieval caves and castles, particularly Turaida.

The architectural complex, built in 1214 by Bishop Albert, today consists of walls and a red-brick tower. tower overlooking more than 42 hectares of valley, offering spectacular views.

Continuation to Tallinn with a stop in Pärnu. Panoramic tour of Pärnu. A renowned seaside resort and spa town, Pärnu is Estonia's summer capital. With its beautiful sandy beaches, Pärnu has preserved a number of significant monuments from its past, including the Red Tower and the 18th-century Baroque churches of St. Catherine and St. Elizabeth.

Arrival in Tallinn, check-in at hotel.

Day 7

Tallinn

Guided tour of TALLINN's Old Town.

Tallinn's Old Town is a dense network of winding alleys, Gothic bell towers and high ramparts, giving it an unreal charm. It's made up of two distinct parts, the Upper Town and the Lower Town, linked by Pikk Street. Discover Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, a beautiful Orthodox church built at the end of the 19th century and dominating the city. Pass in front of Toompea Castle, built in the 13th-14th centuries, which can be spotted from afar thanks to its tallest tower, the Great Herman Tower. Discover the Dome Church, the country's main Lutheran church, founded in 1219.

Through a maze of cobbled streets, you reach the lower town and the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville: lined with charming merchants' residences and one of the oldest pharmacies in Europe, it forms the center of the lower town and was once home to a large, lively market. The Gothic Town Hall, dating from the early 15th century, boasts a 64 m high tower topped by a weather vane. Discover St. Olav's Church, the largest medieval building dating from 1267, with its Gothic bell tower 124 m high.

Departure for the Pirita district, past the ruins of St. Brigid's Convent and the surprising KUMU Museum of Modern Art.

Visit the Kadriorg Palace. Built by Italian architect Michetti by order of Peter the Great for his wife Catherine, this ravishing Baroque palace on Kadriorg dates from 1718. Surrounded by beautiful formal gardens, it now houses the the Museum of Fine Arts.

Day 8

Tallinn - Paris

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning and lunch at leisure.

Transfer to the airport with French-speaking assistance.

3.55pm: Take-off from Tallinn on direct flight AIR BALTIC.

5:55pm: Arrival at Paris Charles de Gaulle.
